SNORC Father’s Day Ride & MTB Car Boot Sale 2025

On Saturday 7 September 2025, SNORC hosted our first-ever MTB Car Boot Sale followed by a Father’s Day Group Ride at Old Man’s Valley Bike Park.

From 2–4pm, the car boot sale was buzzing with riders trading bikes, parts, and gear, while a crew of around 10 groms ripped around the park. Another 30 or so club members, families, and passers-by came through to support the day. At 4pm, we rolled out for a one-hour Father’s Day ride, bringing generations of riders together on the trails.

Community Support

The event wouldn’t have been possible without the help of our amazing community:

  • @iksplor.au — Lani and Martin ran the sausage sizzle.

  • 99 Bikes Pennant Hills — generously donated prizes for our Bike Show & Shine.

  • Club members — Tiaan (Club Secretary), along with Lukas and Emma, worked tirelessly on set-up, BBQ, and signage. Special shout-out to Lukas for his hand-made signs advertising the sizzle and club merch.

  • Scott — donated soft drinks and juice for fundraising.

  • Drew & Riley — helped set up and back down along with tidying up the bank berm with a whipper snipper so the groms could shred!

Fundraising & Swaps

Together we raised $55 in cash on the day and another $30 via the website. On top of that, plenty of bike parts swapped hands — from handlebars for a new bike for Dan’s son to a Pirelli tyre swapped for Deathgrip Handle bar grips with Riley.

Shine & Show Highlights

We wrapped up the afternoon with a Bike Show & Shine. Despite only two bikes being washed (thanks, Dan and Tiaan!), the groms had a blast. There were five prize packs up for grabs, with the top prize — a Muc-Off Bike Wash kit donated by 99 Bikes Pennant Hills — going to Emma.

Community Vibes

The day was filled with positive energy, good conversations, and loads of fun. The jigsaw jump was a hit with the groms, and families enjoyed a relaxed, community-first atmosphere. Importantly, we had discussions about the future of MTB on the North Shore, with everyone encouraged by Hornsby Shire Council’s positive approach to OMV, H2O, and MTB growth in the region.

We also met curious members of the public wanting to learn more about SNORC and our trails — a great sign for building future membership.

What’s Next for SNORC?

  • We’re already planning to run another MTB Car Boot Sale, with more lead time to build hype.

  • Keep an eye out for our upcoming raffle, featuring a signed Caroline Buchanan MTB race jersey from Crankworx Cairns 2022 (details coming soon on our website).

  • Most importantly, this will become an annual event, with more social gatherings to strengthen our community.
